Australia recognises the trust you
place in us when you provide us with personal information. We are
commit
ted to protecting individual
personal information and have adop
ted the National Privacy
Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth). The following
information sets out how we manage your personal information and protect
your privacy, and should be read in conjunction with our Writer and
Subscriber Terms and Conditions.
Why we collect
your personal information
If you
are a Writer, the main reason we collect information about you is to
assist you to promote your Work to our Subscribers. We will not give access to your
personal information or your Work to other writers who use Scripts
Australia’s service (“Service”).
If you are a Subscriber, the main
reason we collect information about you is to assist you to source
literary material suitable for further development or production.
If you
have registered to receive our e-bulletin, Script Sirens, we will
use your details to provide this to you. If you decide you no longer
want to receive Script Sirens, just let us know next time we
contact you.
We may
also contact you to let you know about any changes or improvements to our
Service. If you do not
want to receive these updates, please let us know.
If you
do not provide the information we request at registration, we may not be
able to deliver the services you require.
How we collect
your personal information
The
information we collect wherever possible and practical to do so, will be
collec
ted directly from
you, the person concerned, during the registration
process.
We
do/do not [DELETE AS APPLICABLE] use cookies at the Scripts Australia
Site. Cookies are small bits
of information that a web site transfers to your computer’s hard drive for
record-keeping purposes and allows the tracking of your interests and an
indication of content that is relevant to you. The use of cookies is an
industry-wide practice and they are used at most web
sites.
Why we will
disclose information to another person or
organisation
If you
are a Writer, we will provide your email address and telephone number (if
you supplied this on registration with the Service) to Subscribers when
they select your Work to download from the Script Vault to enable our
Subscribers to contact you.
When a Subscriber views your log lines, they will be given your
name only.
If you
are a Subscriber, when you download any Work from the Script Vault, the
Writer of the Work will be sent an email informing them of the name of the
Subscriber making the download.
Your contact details will not be included in this email. After 21 days from the date
downloading any Work (other than those submit
ted in the form of
log-lines or synopsis), Scripts Australia will email your postal address
to the Writer concerned so that they may write to you to discuss the Work
downloaded.
Under
certain circumstances, we may be forced to disclose information to the
government or authorised third parties to comply with the law. Otherwise, we do not sell, hire or
lease personal information to any other person or
organisation.
How we keep
your personal information secure, accurate and up to
date
We
will use up to date techniques and processes which meet current industry
standards to ensure that your personal information is kept secure and
confidential, free from unauthorised access and disclosure.
It is
important for us, and for you, that the information we hold is accurate
and up to date. In this, we rely on you to help us. We ask that you contact us
whenever there are any changes to your personal details, so that we can
update our records.
We will not
retain any of your information for any longer than is required by us.
How do you
access personal information we hold about you
The
information we hold about you is yours to access and correct, and you have
the right to request access to any information held by us which relates to
you. You also have the right to request
the correction of any information which relates to you is inaccurate. If you need to access or would
like us to amend or delete your information, or have other questions about
